New Routes & Test Routes

Our system is improving! After 6 months of rider surveys, public meetings and peer city reviews, on July 12, 2010 the CMRTA will begin operating on a new schedule that you asked for.  We heard your requests and are implementing as many of them as we can within our budget.  Listed below is a brief summary of what is happening with each route. Route 1- There is no change to this route on weekdays. Saturday and Sunday service is reduced to once per hour.

Route 3  - This route, now called Rosewood, will include a connection for the Rosewood area and the Shoppes at Woodhill  on Garner’s Ferry.

Route 4-  Service has been reduce from every 30 min to once per hour.

Route 5- There is no change to this route.


Route 6- With a new name of Eau Claire, this route will eliminate two of the loops in the farthest portion of the neighborhood. Weekday service is reduced from every 30 min to once per hour.  There will be no Saturday service on this route.

 

Route 8- There will be added service on this route to include the Rosewood neighborhood and the Shoppes at Woodhill on Garner’s Ferry. This route will also have a new name called Rosehill/Owens Field.

Route 8a- This route has been eliminated.  Route 3 and Route 8 will now each run on Saturday.

Route 11- This route will now connect to the Colony Apartments .

 

Route 12 - No change to this Route.



Route 15- Route 15 will now become “Route 15a” running on Forest Drive and Decker Boulevard.  This bus will run once per hour, but with the addition of Route 15b Forest Drive will have service every 30 min.

Route 15b- Route 15b is a new route that will run on Forest Drive and the turn onto Faraway.  This Route will run once per hour Monday-Friday.

 

Route 16- There is no change to this route.                

Route 17- This run will make three trips in the morning and three in the afternoon.

Route 19- This route will be eliminated and served by the new Route 21.

Route 20- Route 20 will now provide additional service on Leesburg Rd from the former Route 22. All trips on this route will travel through Five Points inbound and outbound and will still have service once per hour.

Route 21- This route will now serve a portion of the area from the former Route 19 (outbound).  It will now run South on Sumter to Gervais and continue on Millwood. Service on Maple will be eliminated.  This route will still run once per hour.

Route 22- This route will be eliminate and served all day by the new Route 20.

 

Route 23- Route 23 will no longer go into the campus of Providence NE Hospital, but will continue up and around onto Rabon Road.

Route 23a- Will operate every 90 min on Sunday.

Route 25- This route has been eliminated.

Route 26- For this route, all trips will travel in and out on 12th Street, with service on Augusta Road, between 12th Street and Jarvis Klapman, eliminated.  

Route 28a- Route 28a will now become Route 28 and continue with the same service, except service off of 12th Street into the Cayce neighborhoods will be eliminated.

Route 30- This route will remain the same, but will have no Saturday service.

Route 31- This route will remain the same, but will have no Saturday service.

Route 34- There will be new service added to include Dutch Square, Piney Grove, Bower Parkway, Park Terrace, Harbison and Broad River Rd past St. Andrews.  Service will remain at once per hour and will now have Sunday service.

Route 35- Route 35 has been reduced to 4 trips in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.

Route 36a/b- There will be added service on this route to the Shoppes at Woodhill on Garner’s Ferry, Bush River Road and Bower Parkway. This Route will continue to have service once per hour.

Route 77- This route has been eliminated.  Route 3 and 20 will now run on Sundays.

 

All Sunday Routes will now run once per hour on Sundays.

 

The CMRTA is continuously working to make using the transit system in the Midlands as convenient and user-friendly as possible. The new bus departure times from the Transit Center will be:

 

Weekdays

·         0:00 -  (On the hour) –

                  Routes 1, 8, 15a, 16, 21

·         0:15 – (15 minutes after the hour) 

                  Routes 6, 11, 23, 30

·         0:30 – (30 minutes after the hour)

                  Routes 1, 3, 15b, 16, 20

·         0:45 – (15 minutes until the hour)

                  Routes 4, 12, 34, 31

Saturdays

·         0:00 – 1, 4, 8, 16

·         0:15 –  6,11, 23A

·         0:30 – 3, 15A, 20

·         0:45 – 34

Sundays

·         0:00 – 1,  16, 20, 23A*, 34a/b

·         0:30 – 3, 11, 15A,  23A*

o        * 23A runs every 90 minutes on Sunday
